December in San francisco

December in San Francisco felt hesitant, as if the city couldn’t quite decide on a season — somewhere between the last warmth of fall, a few lingering traces of summer, and the first gentle signs of winter.

As usual, I wandered for hours through my favorite neighborhoods — Chinatown, North Beach, and the Presidio — carrying my film camera and observing the city as it shifted, softened, and changed its mood.
